The Role
As a B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety, airworthiness, and operational readiness of our aircraft. Reporting to the Chief Engineer and supporting the Crew Chief, you’ll be responsible for maintenance activities under Part-145/A8-23 regulations — both at our main base and during overseas detachments.
You’ll also contribute to engineering decisions, mentor junior team members, and help foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Certify aircraft maintenance and supervise ground movements.
- Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across all engineering tasks.
- Support aircraft operations at base and detached locations (UK & overseas).
- Maintain accurate and timely aircraft documentation.
- Coordinate engineering activities to meet operational targets and budgets.
- Deputise for the Crew Chief when required.
- Promote SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) and Security standards.
- Drive continuous improvement and uphold Draken’s core values.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Unrestricted CAA Part 66 B1 licence.
- Strong understanding of aviation regulations and compliance.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate engineering teams.
- Medically fit and willing to work shifts and travel.
- Eligible for UK Security Clearance and ITAR compliance.
