About the Role

We are recruiting for a Technical Instructor to join our Technical Training Department (TTD). Reporting to the Examination Manager/Deputy Training Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality technical and non-technical training programmes in line with aviation regulatory requirements and company standards.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver training that supports the development of engineers, apprentices, and operational teams across the business. You will play a key role in ensuring training remains compliant, engaging, and effective while supporting the continued growth and competency of our workforce.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and deliver theoretical and practical training programmes in accordance with Part 147, Part 66, and company requirements.
  • Create and update training materials, training needs analyses, syllabi, and examination question banks.
  • Deliver aircraft type training, technical courses, induction programmes, human factors training, and other development activities.
  • Conduct examinations, practical assessments, and invigilation duties where authorised.
  • Ensure compliance with UK CAA, EASA, UK MAA, and other applicable aviation regulations.
  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure training activities meet company and regulatory standards.
  • Support a strong culture of safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor, coach, and support students and apprentices throughout their development.
  • Act as a training focal point, liaising with internal stakeholders to identify and support training requirements.
  • Provide technical training expertise and guidance to departments across the organisation.
  • Flexibility to travel within the UK and internationally is essential, with occasional deployments away from your home location for periods ranging from one to five weeks.

Experience & Skills

Essential

  • Experience delivering technical, engineering, maintenance, or aviation-related training.
  • Good working knowledge of UK CAA and EASA aviation regulations.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and training development tools.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SC Security Clearance.

Desirable

  • Experience working within a Part 147 approved training organisation.
  • Knowledge of Part 66 training requirements and aircraft maintenance licensing.
  • Part 66 B1 or B2 Aircraft Maintenance Licence.
  • Teaching, Training, Assessing, or Learning & Development qualification.
  • Aeronautical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
