US General Ledger & Reporting Accountant

About the Role
We’re looking for a technically strong and detail-focused accountant to join our Global Finance team, supporting our US operations.
This is a key role responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, while contributing to timely and high-quality financial reporting. You’ll work closely with both our UK and US finance teams and play an important part in maintaining strong financial controls and continuous improvement across the function.
You’ll also have the opportunity to support and develop a junior team member based in the US, making this a great step for someone looking to build leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the US general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately
- Review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist in preparing financial statements in line with accounting standards
- Ensure strong financial controls, accuracy, and compliance across all reporting
- Support internal and external audits
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Supervise and support a junior US-based Staff Accountant
- Act as a point of contact for accounting queries within the US team
About You
- A qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Experienced in general ledger accounting and financial reporting
- Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance
- Confident working with accounting systems and Excel
- Comfortable working across international teams
- Able to manage workload to meet reporting deadlines
You’ll also ideally have:
- Experience supervising or mentoring others
- Exposure to audits or working in a multi-entity environment
