The Role
We are currently recruiting for a BN2T Senior Base Pilot. We are seeking a highly capable BN2T Senior Base Pilot to lead our Islander operation in Northern Ireland, ensuring the safe, compliant, and effective delivery of all contracted outputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership of BN2T Flight Operations at the base, supporting the Fleet Captain in representing Draken during operational discussions with the customer.
- Act as the focal point for all aspects of contracted BN2T service delivery.
- Ensure safe, compliant BN2T operations in accordance with Company Operations Manuals, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures.
- Operate as a BN2T Captain, demonstrating strong airborne leadership and professional decision-making.
- Liaise closely with Operations and Engineering teams to maintain aircraft availability and operational readiness.
- Manage base pilot staffing levels, supporting recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning in conjunction with the Fleet Captain.
- Contribute to bids, commercial activities, and continuous operational improvements.
- Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring audit compliance and timely closure of identified actions.
- Lead by example, modelling the highest standards of professionalism in support of contract delivery.
Experience / skills / qualifications
- A strong commitment to aviation safety, operational discipline, and procedural integrity.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure.
- Valid UK CPL(A) or ATPL(A) and Class 1 Medical.
- AUPRT and MCC qualifications.
- Desirable: 1000+ hours BN2 Islander PIC.
- Working knowledge of CAA and/or MAA regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in both commercial and military aviation environments.
