Draken Europe is seeking a proactive and experienced Aviation Safety Advisor – Operations to act as the safety focal point at our Teesside Main Operating Base. This is a pivotal role that bridges the gap between our Aviation Safety Team and operational delivery, ensuring that safety management outputs are timely, credible, and operationally relevant.
Key Responsibilities
As the Aviation Safety Advisor, you will:
- Serve as the Flight Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Teesside operation.
- Lead and contribute to hazard identification, risk assessments, and the development of safety cases.
- Support AOC Management of Change activities and safety investigations.
- Promote and embed a strong Safety Culture across the Teesside site.
- Represent Draken at regional and airport safety forums.
- Facilitate and contribute to Safety Review Boards, Safety Action Groups, Occurrence Review Meetings, and Daily Risk Assessment Meetings.
- Act as the Emergency Response focal point for Teesside.
- Produce safety promotion materials and support safety training initiatives.
- Conduct Safety Assurance visits and ensure standardisation across fleets.
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Qualifications
- Background in operational military or civil flying, or equivalent (e.g. ATC, FC, ABM).
- Proven experience in Safety Management Systems and Flight Safety Organisations.
- Strong understanding of aviation safety regulations and risk management tools.
- Experience in safety training delivery and safety documentation development.

- Effective facilitation of safety meetings and trend monitoring.
- Achievement of objectives set during Personal Development Reviews (PDRs).
Additional Information
- Occasional out-of-hours work and domestic/international travel may be required.
- This role does not have direct reports but requires strong cross-functional collaboration.
