Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of system requirements, architectures and interface definitions.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, customers and external suppliers to deliver technical solutions.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, test procedures and reports.
  • Contribute to technical reviews, meetings and project delivery activities within Integrated Delivery Teams (IDTs).
  • Apply engineering best practice, lifecycle processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote safety, quality and continuous improvement across all activities.
  • Share technical knowledge and support the development of team capability.
  • Deliver work to agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards.
  • Undertake occasional UK and overseas travel as required.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Systems Engineering, including system design, integration, verification and validation.
  • Understanding of software-intensive systems, software lifecycles, architecture principles and configuration management.
  • Experience developing requirements and maintaining traceability from requirements through to testing and verification.
  • Ability to develop, execute and document system-level testing activities.
  • Knowledge of open architectures, modular system design and system interfaces.
  • Experience working with customers, stakeholders and suppliers to deliver technical solutions.

Desirable:

  • Professional registration (CEng/IEng) or postgraduate qualification (MEng/MSc).
  • Experience within aerospace, defence or regulated engineering environments.
  • Knowledge of airworthiness regulations, safety-critical software standards (e.g. DO-178C), or mission systems.
  • Understanding of RF, radar, communications or electronic warfare systems.
