About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Systems Requirements Engineer (Technology) to join the Draken Chief Technology Officer team. This is a key role supporting a wide range of internal and customer technology work packages, with responsibility for defining, implementing and managing system requirements across the full lifecycle of complex technology programmes.

You will own and drive the Technology requirements governance process, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly defined, controlled, and understood—while proactively managing technical risk. This is a hands‑on, technical and stakeholder‑facing role, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to operate confidently at all levels of the organisation.

The role sits within Integrated Delivery Teams (IDTs), where you may act as technical lead for nominated projects, ensuring delivery meets time, cost and quality expectations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate with safety first, ensuring compliance with SHE standards and safe systems of work
  • Define, implement and manage system requirements across the full lifecycle of Technology work packages
  • Own, review and maintain Technology requirements governance processes and procedures
  • Identify, implement and manage a suitable requirements management tool
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders - including Flight Operations, EW Operations, Part 21G and Part 145 organisations - to capture, agree and control system requirements
  • Act as Technical Lead within IDTs for allocated technology projects
  • Produce high‑quality technical documentation, including:
  • Statements of Requirement (SOR)
  • Statements of Work (SOW)
  • Systems Engineering Plans
  • Qualification, EMC, Test and Acceptance Plans
  • Contribute to and lead customer and stakeholder meetings where appropriate
  • Review system, hardware, software, integration and test documentation to ensure design compliance
  • Support the Chief Engineer in driving team performance through effective communication and collaboration
  • Identify and propose process and product improvements to drive best practice and compliance
  • Support staff development through knowledge sharing and mentoring
  • Deliver tasks to agreed time, budget and quality standards
  • Apply and comply with engineering frameworks, lifecycle management and regulatory requirements
  • Undertake UK and overseas travel in support of business needs

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a Systems or Technical Requirements Management role
  • Strong understanding of EW and radar systems
  • Experience using requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS) with traceability and verification
  • Understanding of civil or military flight certification processes
  • Experience delivering technical work using both agile and waterfall methodologies (e.g. JIRA, MS Project)
  • Experience writing technical specifications for contracting and managing subcontractors
  • Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline

Desirable

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng)
  • MEng or MSc qualification
