The Role
We are currently recruiting for Technical Trainer to join the Technical Training Department (TTD) at Draken, based out of our HQ in Bournemouth. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality technical training in accordance with Part 147, Part 66 and all relevant aviation regulations. You’ll support engineers, apprentices and technical staff across the business, ensuring they receive compliant, effective and engaging training that contributes to safe aircraft operations.
Alongside this technical training, you will be responsible for the delivery of training courses such as our Company Induction course, Foundation training, Human Factors, and will be responsible for supporting other departments with training specific to their staffs development.
This role is based in Bournemouth but will also require some UK-wide and overseas travel to deliver training to all areas of our business.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver theoretical and practical type training courses in accordance with all applicable aviation regulations and company approval across all Draken sites.
- Conduct theoretical examinations and practical assessments in accordance with all applicable aviation regulations and company approval.
- Develop and manage theoretical and practical training material in accordance with the applicable aviation regulations and company approval, such as:
- Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
- A syllabus following the principles of the Part 66 Regulations
- Training notes to support the TNS and syllabus
- Examination question bank
- Act as a mentor for a group of Apprentices and those conducting work experience at Draken
- Ensure all training, facilities and equipment meet applicable regulatory and safety standards
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Extensive understanding of the structure of the Part 147 regulation training principles in relation to the Part 66 regulation, with proven experience in a similar role
- Ideally you will have experience working as an B1 or B2 Licenced Aircraft Engineer
- Experience / knowledge of Dangerous Goods by Air
- Theoretical and practical application-level knowledge of UK CAA and EASA regulations
- Practical application-level knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001
- Tertiary level teaching / learning / training qualification
