Position - Electronics Test and Repair Engineer
Location - Bournemouth, including detachment operations across the UK and overseas.
Hours - Monday - Thursday 08:15-16:15 & Friday 08:15-15:45

The Role
We are looking for a skilled Electronics Test and Repair Engineer to maintain and ensure the safe operation of our advanced Electronic Warfare and Target Towing systems. These systems are essential to delivering Operational Readiness Training for a wide range of defence customers.
As part of our Mission Systems team, you’ll work both at base and on detached operations across the globe, ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
At Draken Europe, safety is our top priority. You’ll operate in full compliance with SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) Technical Standards, applying safe systems of work to every task. You’ll identify where these standards apply and ensure all risk assessments and countermeasures are followed to maintain the highest levels of safety and regulatory compliance.
• Apply countermeasures identified in applicable risk assessment to appointed operations/tasks.
• Always maintain compliance with Pt.145 & Company requirements.
• Carry out planned maintenance on Mission Systems equipment in accordance with demand from the Flying Programme & Mission Systems Maintenance Team Lead.
• Perform component maintenance within the approved capabilities of the department and personal authorisations.
• Carry out fault investigation and repair of Mission Systems equipment.
• Certify that correct documentation is completed for all Mission Systems maintenance activities.
• Take part in detached operations across the globe and prepare spares packs for those operations.
• Certify that all tasks are completed in accordance with the current Departmental and Company Safety and Quality standards and procedures.
• Prepare aircraft and underwing stores for operational use in accordance with Company Authorisation held.
• Security cleared to meet current UK and ITAR requirements in support of the business with the willingness to achieve DV level security clearance if required.
• Any other duties that are reasonably requested by management within the capability of the incumbent. This may include the certification and release of “New” parts in accordance with the business Part 21G authorisation. Personal authorisations are dependent upon business needs.
Experience / skills / qualifications
- Good technical English (written and spoken) and basic mathematics.
- Ability to work safely in line with risk assessments and technical instructions.
- Medically fit to perform daily engineering duties, including overseas detachments.
- Strong fault-finding and rectification skills down to component level.
- Competent in soldering electronic components and installing equipment wiring to aerospace standards.
- Skilled in using RF (Desirable) and microwave test equipment for accurate measurements.
- Proficient with basic hand tools for mechanical assembly and disassembly.
- Ability to interpret technical publications, manuals, drawings, and design data.
- Full understanding of Part 145 regulatory requirements.
- Completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent training.
- Previous experience in a workshop or aircraft maintenance environment.
- Competent using IT systems and software (MS Office desirable).
- Security clearance to UK and ITAR standards, with willingness to achieve DV clearance if required.
Desirable:
- Experience in Electronic Warfare or Radar maintenance.
- Background in Electrical or mechanical engineering disciplines.
