The Role
We are currently recruiting for 6 Mechanical Design Engineers for a short term contract requirement of 8 weeks in duration. The role requires the design engineer to assess, review and correct Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA), maintenance manuals and assess mechanical drawings. The output of the work will send documents/drawings back to the manufacturer for rework, or provide recommendation for approval.
Key Responsibilities
Shall manage all design phases of technical projects and manage scheduling, estimating andcompletion of design data.
They shall conduct engineering studies and investigations, and preparereports for the DO leadership and Project Managers.
They also provide engineering guidance to otherdepartments, help to train new engineers and keep abreast of industry trends and issues. Work with customers and suppliers and integrate with Marketing, sales and projectmanagement.
Compilation of design and certification data.
Providing working design solutions to technical problems with the minimum of supervision.
Check Signatory for Mechanical drawings and certification reports.
Generating design concepts and supporting the design engineers in the execution of thedesign and certification packages.
Provide support to the PDE or SDE for design reviews.
Supporting production and installation engineers in matters relating to projects.
Experience / skills / qualifications
Degree or HND/HNC or OND/ONC or equivalent in mechanical or aerospace engineering or 5 years related industrial experience (this should be evidenced by the employment history onthe applicant/job holder CV).
Have a clear understanding of aircraft component and/or system design requirements,materials and manufacturing processes.
CATIA proficient.
Able to produce calculations in support of design activities.
A working knowledge of regulatory requirements, ie CAA, EASA, FAA, UK MAA is desirable.
The ability to work alone or within a team environment, and as a team member.
Able to hold SC Security Clearance
Ideally Fast Jet experience
