The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Buyer to provide support to all aspects of the Purchasing and Supply Chain function to enable the delivery of Advanced Technology solutions across a diverse fleet of aircraft to customers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raise/Create RFQ’s, RTO’s, Purchase and Repair Orders
  • Expedite outstanding Quotations, Orders and Repairs to ensure promised delivery dates are met
  • Liaise with Internal Stakeholders to understand business priorities
  • Maintaining previously set re-order levels with economic batch ordering and best practice applied
  • Produce and maintain Shortage and Open order book Reports.
  • Develop and maintain good supplier relationships both external and internal. Liaise with appropriate parties to resolve queries e.g.. Purchase Order, Tech support, Production Support, Invoices and Quality Failures.
  • Conduct Regular Supplier Review Meetings (onsite and offsite), Report on Performance and Drive Continuous improvement initiatives
  • Attend Daily Stand up meetings and represent and deputise for the department as required
  • To take ownership of the AOG process during working hours and provide out of hours support on a rotational basis.
  • Perform regular housekeeping activities on Aerotrac and the Service Desk and ensure data integrity is maintained at all times
  • Raise internal workshop projects, Collate all the information to include work scoping requirements from Technical records,  service history and usage on the unserviceable rotable component
  • Ensure adherence to all company Policies and Procedures and that Safety and a Just Culture is core to all decisions and actions. 

Experience / skills / qualifications

  • Minimum 5 GCSE’s A-C (including Maths and English)
  • Batchelors Degree or Equivalent (Desirable)
  • CIPS Level 4 (or training towards) (Desirable)
  • Demonstrable experience of working within a Purchasing or Comparable Role.
  • Proficient with MS Excel; MS PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Able to work with, influence and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience of managing priorities and working to deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to react, negotiate and manage multiple demands
  • Proficient administration, numerical and organisational skills.
  • Previous experience of working with ERP systems
  • Previous Aerospace/Aviation experience (Desirable)
  • Experience of Procurement of Aircraft Spares, Raw Materials and Chemicals (Desirable)
